94N: Wire
Systems Equipment Repairer
Major Duties: The wire systems equipment
repairer performs or supervises direct and general support
(DS/GS) level maintenance on manual and semiautomatic unit
level switchboards, telephones, and associated wire instruments
and equipment. Duties for MOS 94N at each level of skill are:
- Skill Levels
- Skill Level 1 MOSC 94N1O. Uses Test,
Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to test
and isolate faulty assemblies and components for wire
equipment and unit level switchboards. Identifies faults,
replaces parts, rewires equipment, interconnects components,
and adjusts all types of manual and semiautomatic telephone
switchboard equipment. Uses circuit and wiring diagrams
and schematics. Tests repaired equipment.
- Skill Level 2 MOSC 94N2O. Performs
complex maintenance tasks on malfunctioning equipment.
Assists personnel engaged in installation and repair
of wire equipment. Prepares and maintains technical
and administrative shop records and bench stock. Interprets
circuit diagrams and schematics and computes voltage,
amperage, and resistance factors using algebraic formulae.
Conducts technical or quality control inspections of
repaired equipment.
- Skill Level 3 MOSC 94N3O. Establishes
work load, work schedules, repair priorities, and assigns
specific duties to subordinate personnel. Provides technical
information and instruction to subordinates and supported
organizations. Supervises quality control inspections
of manual and semiautomatic switchboards, telephones,
and associated equipment. Advises and makes recommendations
to superiors regarding maintenance status of in-shop
equipment. Writes maintenance procedures required to
support technical area of expertise.
Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial
award of MOS. The wire systems equipment repairer must
possess the following qualifications:
(1) Physical Demands Rating:
very heavy
(2) Physical Profile: 111221
(3) Normal color vision.
(4) Minimum score of 100 in aptitude
area EL.
(5) A security clearance of SECRET.
(6) Successful completion of one year of high school algebra
and general science.
(7) A U.S citizen.
(8) Formal training (completion of MOS 94N Course conducted
under the auspices of the U.S. Army Ordnance Missile and Munitions
School) mandatory; or waiver may be granted by Commandant,
USAOMMCS, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35897-6090.
MOS 94N was known as 35N before fiscal year 2006.
