94F: Special
Electronic Devices Repairer
Major Duties: The special electronic devices
repairer performs or supervises direct and general support
(DS/GS) level maintenance and repair on special electronic
devices, including: night vision equipment, mine detectors,
scattering systems, electronic distance and azimuth orienting
devices, battlefield illumination devices, electronic azimuth
determining devices, and nuclear, biological, and chemical
(NBC) warning and measuring devices. Duties for MOS 94F at
each level of skill are:
- Skill Levels
- Skill Level 1 MOSC 94F1O. Inspects
equipment for faults and completeness. Tests equipment
to determine operational condition. Troubleshoots to
determine location and extent of equipment faults. Repairs
equipment by adjusting, aligning, repairing, or replacing
defective components. Tests repaired items to ensure
compliance with technical specifications. Prepares appropriate
maintenance forms and records. Performs preventive maintenance
checks and services (PMCS) on tools, test, measurement,
and diagnostic equipment (TMDE), vehicles, and power
generators.
- Skill Level 2 MOSC 94F2O. Performs
maintenance duties that are more complex and beyond
the scope and experience of those encountered by the
skill level one repairer. Provides technical assistance
to both subordinates and supported users. Performs quality
control tests on repaired equipment. Requests and maintains
authorized bench stock, repair parts, supplies, and
technical publications.
- Skill Level 3 MOSC 94F3O. Assigns
specific duties to subordinate personnel. Establishes
workload, work schedules, and repair priorities. Performs
and supervises quality control inspections. Coordinates
logistical support. Establishes and implements on the
job technical instruction programs for subordinate personnel.
Provides technical information and assistance to supported
units. Advises and makes recommendations concerning
equipment repair and status to superiors. Prepares,
reviews, and consolidates technical and administrative
reports and requests. Maintains files and records. Prepares
or updates SOP, site defense, and evacuation plans.
Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial
award of MOS. The special electronic devices repairer
must possess the following qualifications:
(1) Physical Demands Rating:
heavy
(2) Physical Profile: 111221
(3) Normal color vision.
(4) Minimum score of 105 in aptitude
area EL.
(5) A security clearance of SECRET.
(6) Successful completion of 1 year of high school algebra
and general science.
(7) A U.S citizen.
(8) Formal training (completion of MOS 94F Course conducted
under the auspices of the U.S. Army Ordnance Missile and Munitions
School) mandatory; or waiver may be granted by Commandant,
USAOMMCS, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35897-6090; or meet the civilian
acquired skills criteria listed in AR 601-210.
MOS 94F was known as 35F before fiscal year 2006.
