Basic Training Journal: Monday, August 4th

We finished financing today. If they find anything wrong with your direct deposit form they will make you open up a bank account with Columbus Bank & Trust(CB&T). We have the PT test tomorrow...I'm not worried since I passed the delayed entry program(DEP) PT test easily.

Excess messed with our bunks today. They threw our sheets around the bay and dumped someones unsecured duffel bag all over the floor. That reminds me, all of our issued items barely fit in our duffel bag. I hope the drill sergeants don't make us hold them over our heads for whatever reason because they weigh a ton. It's really hard to organize your stuff because you have to cram everything in your duffel bag.

Their's a lot of stealing going on too....one guy was stealing stuff and selling it to whoever wanted it. You definitely have to make sure to secure your stuff here or it will dissapear in a flash. I wouldn't even turn your back for a second because it will more than likely be gone before you know it.

Back to excess...it was a very bad idea to put the excess guys in the same bay as us. Some are going home and don't care what they do, plus they are crazy....most of them anyway. One guy in there has to wear an orange vest because he tried to run away before.
