Army Corps of Engineers: Laboratories


  • Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory - Site follows the research of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as it relates to integrated systems analysis, hydroenvironmental technologies, navigation support and flood and storm damage reduction.
  • Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) - Information on the CRREL's primary mission: to research and engineer solutions for technical problems related to cold weather, snow, and ice. Includes news releases, research reports, and partnering opportunities.
  • Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) - Focuses on research activities of the CERL. Research goals are to provide coordination with communities in regards to military operations in adjacent areas. Also includes information on cultural resources research, land management, seismic engineering, endangered species and environmental restoration.
  • Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) - Information on research related to hydrologic engineering and water resources planning and management. Conducts research, training, planning, analysis, and technical assistance, and incorporates state-of-the-art procedures and techniques into manuals and comprehensive computer programs.
  • Topographic Engineering Center, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Supports military and civilian operations by providing information on research and development in the field of topographic science. Site includes publications, news releases, employment opportunities, and technology information related to the operation of the research facility.
  • Waterways Experiment Station, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. - Site provides information on studies, planning, research, and development occurring at the Vicksburg, MS research facility. Research and information topics include environmental, geotechnical, structures, information technology and coastal engineering.
